We wanted to share a quick update on our Year 6 trip to Trewern in Wales. After a slightly delayed departure from Monteagle at 8:35 AM, we enjoyed a smooth journey filled with games of Uno, a few songs, and even a little shut-eye for Mr. Francis!
We arrived at Trewern around 2:30 PM, and the children were thrilled by the stunning green scenery, rivers, and mountains that greeted us. After settling into our rooms and groups, we kicked off our adventure with a round of orienteering.
Dinner was a hit, featuring a delicious sweet potato and cumin soup followed by everyone’s favourite: pizza and chips! Don’t worry—there was plenty of salad, too.
In the evening, we enjoyed a night walk that included some beautiful stargazing—something we don’t often experience back in Dagenham. Our course leader, John, shared fascinating insights about the famous yew trees and the literary history of Hay-on-Wye.
Now, it’s time for bed as we prepare for an exciting day of activities tomorrow!
